About Us

SURETY TITLE COMPANY is a company whose primary services are facilitating the closing of real estate transactions and issuance of title policies. We are able, through our various contacts, to close transactions and to cause to be issued title insurance policies in any county in the State of Texas. We offer a number of underwriters for issuing the policies, including, but not limited to, Alamo Title Company (Boerne Branch), Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, United General Title Insurance Company, and Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company (all other branches).

Our office is backed by at least fifty years of combined experience. Drew Darby, a graduate of the University of Texas Law School, has been a licensed attorney since 1971, whose primary practice is real estate law. Mr. Darby is the owner of nine operating title companies located in the counties of Tom Green, Runnels, San Saba, McCulloch, Concho, Kimble, Real, Schleicher and Kendall. Kyla Sledge, our Boerne Branch Manager/Escrow Officer has been working in the legal and title field since 1984 and a licensed escrow officer since 1993. She is experienced in residential, farm and ranch and commercial closings. She has been responsible for closing multi-million dollar transactions, which include transactions such as Boerne Park Meadows and Boerne Creekside Apartments, together with transactions for large corporations including, but not limited to, Whataburger and Town & Country Food Stores. Her combined legal and escrow background allow her to handle all of your closings in a professional and efficient manner. Annette Branecky, Escrow Assistant/Abstractor has been working in the title field in Kendall County since 1992. Her experience includes title research, title examination, typing of policies and commitments. Her knowledge of the Kendall County area is a great asset. Shelly Smith, Escrow Assistant has worked in the banking industry for three years. Her duties included the closing of in-house home equity loans, which provided an excellent base for her current position. She is responsible for the opening of new files, obtaining payoffs, and generally preparing a file for closing, including, but not limited to, curative matters.

The combination of Mr. Darby as a licensed attorney and Kyla Sledge, an experienced legal assistant, allow us to offer a service from a legal standpoint that you may not obtain elsewhere. We can handle matters such as Affidavits of Identity, Affidavits of Heirship, preparation of documents...etc., which help to facilitate the closing of the transaction in a more timely manner.
